Hi, I'm Max. I am a father, author, and curious student of life, writing and thinking about love, philosophy, sport, health, parenthood, and the art of analogue living — in essays, prose and poetry.
If you'd like to talk, you can reach out here.
In my youth, I was one of the top junior tennis players in Germany, until I realized I wasn't made for the pressure and monotony of life in an individual sport. So I did the sensible thing and studied economics and sports management, both of which I dutifully completed, just as my parents had hoped :‑)
I spent many years working across the sports world for federations, clubs, and companies, and eventually built two sports marketing agencies before walking away from them for good.
Since then, I've devoted myself to writing, translating ideas worth spreading, and helping people stay grounded, think clearly, and live with more joy, depth, and love.
I'm an experienced tennis and padel coach, a state-certified mental performance trainer, and the founder of a recreational football club in Munich that somehow still exists almost twenty years later.
Until early 2025, I also hosted a podcast where I spoke with interesting people from the world of sports — from doctors and Olympic champions to authors, coaches, scientists, and even politicians.
I also spent more than a decade working as a bartender, which may have taught me as much about human nature as anything else. At home, I live with my family and a small cast of animals, including a turtle named Seneca.
I love the sea, play padel whenever I can, reach for the guitar or keyboard whenever I have a minute, and still hope to become a better surfer.
If you'd like to get to know me, feel free to reach out. We can set up a digital or, even better, an in-person meeting here in Mallorca.
